Chopped tomatoes and tomato puree are staple ingredients and with Italian being the most popular cuisine cooked and enjoyed across the UK, Sainsbury?s is making aiming to make it easier to add flavours by launching a new range of Taste the Difference and by Sainsbury?s purees.
The Taste the Difference lines include Cherry Tomato & Basil Puree, a time saving base for Italian dishes such as spaghetti bolognese, and Italian Tomato & Vegetable Puree, mix of tomatoes and vegetables to give a savoury sauce base.
The two new by Sainsbury?s lines include Italian Tomato Puree with Garlic, designed for a homemade lasagne, and Italian Tomato Puree with Chilli, useful if consumers have Arrabiatta pasta sauce in mind.

The infused purees remove the need to separately prepare key recipe ingredients such as garlic, chilli and basil, making cooking favourite dishes at home more convenient than ever.
Andrew Ritchie, lead product developer for Sainsbury?s groceries, said:
?We?re really pleased with all four of the new puree flavours and think busy home cooks will love how time saving they are.
?We all know how fiddly chopping garlic and chillies can be and this is a great way to cook favourite dishes really simply, without compromising on taste.?
