Masters Home Improvement has entered the Home Improvement sector with large format stores designed to meet the everyday home improvement needs of consumers. This fresh new home improvement offer is based on a combination of significant local and international industry expertise and the right range representing value and choice.

We are currently seeking Assistant Department Managers for our Carrum Downs store. These are full time EBA positions. Successful applicants will be required to work some weekends and late nights.

As an Assistant Department Manager you will be measured on your ability to assist the Deparment Manager with:

• Weekly rosters for department team
• Sales Plans
• Managing stock levels
• Merchandising stock
• Effective leadership

Key responsibilities of Assistant Department Managers include:

• Supporting the Department Manager in the efficient running and supervision of their department
  
• Ensuring the health and safety of all store associates and customers
• Ensuring a superior level of customer service is offered
• Meeting and exceeding sales budgets
• Providing specialist knowledge to our customers
• Coaching / mentoring team members

We are seeking Assistant Department Managers in the following areas:

• Gardening - Outdoor, Indoor, Greenlife, Landscaping, Outdoor Living
• Décor - Paint & Storange, Home Decor & Flooring
• Showroom - Kitchens & Appliances
• Timber & Building Supplies - Trade Sales, Timber & Joinery
• Freight - Invoices, Receiving, Filling
• Service - Cash Office, Installed Sales, Customer Service, Front End
• Plumbing, Tools, Stockroom

To be considered for this role you need to meet the following selection criteria:

• Ability to work across the 7 days of the week, including evenings, late nights and some public holidays
• Previous retail management experience in a similar role
• Previous experience with one of the above categories
• Demonstrate a strong customer focus
• Work in a fast-paced team environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• An eye for detail and a sense of urgency
• Ability to drive sales and a passion for home improvement
